coma-white:

Marilyn Manson at the Echo Awards in Berlin, Germany - 3.22.12.

I had completely forgotten about the Echo Awards until there was a short report on RadioEins a few hours ago, in which M.C. Lücke yapped about how it was so sad to see that Marilyn Manson still hasn’t recovered from Dita Von Teese, because he used to be so cool in the 90s and then she broke his heart and he has been trying to get over her in his last two albums, but obviously he hasn’t managed yet, because OMG HE GOT FAT.

This sprouted two different lines of thinking in my still-very-much-attached-to-Manson-pre-2003 head:

1. I suppose I really haven’t seen any images of the guy recently, because I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in a physical state that I would consider (without negative or positive connotation) fat.

2. How exactly is his private life and his physical appearance any indication of the quality of his music? How is his weight relevant to anything in any way? I mean, Lücke was reeeaaally pitying the poor guy, because he compleeetely lost his shape. HOW? DOES? THAT? EVEN? MATTER?

And then, to top it off, I decide to turn on the TV and maybe get a glimpse of him myself, and just then Manson comes onstage to present an award and he looks like fucking always.
Now I’m left to wonder which word I can use to describe my body type, according to Lücke, because if Manson as seen in the pictures above is fat, then that word most certainly won’t work for me any longer. Suggestions?

Mechanical Animals was Marilyn Manson at his best, in my humble opinion. It kinda (slowly but surely) went downhill after that.
